The third album by Pabellón sin Baranda is titled El tercer grito (The Third Scream). It was an independent production, recorded in 2015 and produced by the group itself. Unlike the previous albums, all of the tracks—except Raspao and Viruta by Matías Herrera—were composed by members of the ensemble. Most of the compositions are by Orlando Cardozo, while Pedro Vásquez and Javier Montilla each contributed two pieces.
The titles of the tracks generally carry a humorous tone, as do the genre descriptions. For example, Trisonante is labeled a “Draculean waltz,” and Se fue la luz is described as an “electric merengue.” Interestingly, although the album is called El tercer grito, the track that lends it its name is actually titled El cuarto grito (The Fourth Scream). Cardozo wrote several versions of the “scream” piece, but the fourth one was the one ultimately recorded. However, the album title refers to the group’s third production, adding yet another layer of inside humor from the band members.
Guest musicians on this recording include Xavier Perry (harp), Juan Carlos Silva (percussion), and Christy Camba(vocals).
